Lifestyle Solutions’ National Diversity Manager, Dean Duncan, was named 2019 NAIDOC Person of the Year at the annual National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony at the Canberra Convention Centre on Saturday 6 July 2019.
The National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony recognises the outstanding contributions that Indigenous Australians make to improving the lives of Indigenous people in their communities and beyond.
“It’s a tremendous honour to be named 2019 NAIDOC Person of the Year. I feel quite overwhelmed and emotional by the significance of this award,” said Dean.
The Awards highlight the national winners by sharing their inspirational stories. They pay tribute to their achievements and are an important platform for promoting Indigenous issues in the wider community.
Dean Duncan is a proud Kamilaroi man from Moree, North West NSW. Dean has dedicated his life to contributing to and advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their families and communities.
Dean leads Lifestyle Solutions’ Diversity and Inclusion program, encouraging diversity in recruitment and upholding Lifestyle Solutions’ commitment to reconciliation through the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
